Serving a 4000px photo in a 400px slot wastes almost everything you send
A camera image is many times larger than any place it is actually displayed. Resizing before you upload keeps pages fast, keeps uploads under limits, and stops platforms from re-compressing your work badly.
Lock the ratio, or don't
Type a width and the height follows automatically. Unlock it when you need an exact frame, and choose how the image should sit inside it.
Fit, fill or stretch
Fit keeps the whole image and pads the gaps with a colour you pick. Fill crops to cover the frame edge to edge. Stretch forces the exact numbers.
Presets that match the platform
Instagram posts and stories, YouTube thumbnails, LinkedIn banners, favicons and more — one click sets the exact size each platform expects.

Image Resizer questions
Will resizing blur my image?
Downscaling is done in halving steps rather than one jump, which keeps edges crisp. Upscaling past the original size will always soften an image — no browser tool can invent detail that was never captured.
How do I resize without stretching?
Keep the aspect-ratio lock on, or unlock it and choose “Fit” to pad the extra space, or “Fill” to crop the overflow. Only “Stretch” distorts the image.
Can I resize by percentage instead of pixels?
Yes. Switch to percentage mode and pick a scale — 50% halves both sides, 25% quarters them, and the resulting pixel size is shown as you type.
What size should I use for social media?
The presets cover the current recommended sizes: 1080×1080 for an Instagram post, 1080×1920 for stories and reels, 1280×720 for YouTube thumbnails, and 1584×396 for a LinkedIn banner.
